Welcome to The Time Is Now: The Basics of Physical and Mental Well-Being by The Resilience Platform. This eBook (as part of the course) will cover useful topics such as exercise, diet, resilience and motivation to help you improve and maintain good health. You should also watch the videos included in the course to support the information in this eBook. Health is not just the absence of disease; it should be seen as a state of absolute physical, mental and social well-being.

This course aims to provide you the basic information you need to improve aspects of your health. If you need a place to start, then this course should give you a good foundation of knowledge of how you can approach the improvement of your health. Whilst the information within this course is formed from academic research and expertise, you should not make any significant changes to your lifestyle without first consulting your doctor and/or doing your own research. As any decisions you make to your lifestyle are your choice and The Resilience Platforms does not accept any responsibility for any injury or harm which may occur.

Part of the reason I wrote this eBook is because I have a lot of friends and family that work in offices, schools and healthcare. They all say the same thing. They are not taking care of their health as much as they should be. In the 21st century, for many of us, it seems that finding the time and motivation to focus on our physical and mental well-being is impossible. Neglecting our mind and body can result in weight gain, stress and other negative effects. Some people will often develop unhealthy habits as a coping strategy, which may only further put them further away from optimal health and wellbeing.

The key to achieving optimal health and wellbeing is being consistent with your healthy habits and behaviours and trying to maintain these actions at all times. This one may sound familiar, but many people decide to begin their health journey in January after a Christmas period of much enjoyment and celebration. However, this change in behaviour is normally short-lived and people will often quickly revert back to their previous lifestyle behaviours and health status. Once you stop maintaining your healthy habits, your progress will decline, and you will no longer reap the benefits of living a balanced and fulfilled lifestyle. Having habits that fit both your body and mind, as well your lifestyle, can help you break the cycle of stopping healthy habits such as exercise or eating well, only to have to start all over again at a later date.

This eBook will help you pay more attention to what you really need, instead of trying to achieve unrealistic goals (diets, gym plans) in an unsustainable way and, instead, can help you maintain healthy behaviours permanently. You will be given essential information you need to start improving your overall well-being and make the most of your time; as well as making sure that you get the best out of yourself.

At The Resilience Platform, we aim to give you the help you need in a simple format with content that is easy to understand. You will find lots of useful information and practical suggestions that will provide you with the basic knowledge you need to tackle and overcome your health and well-being challenges.
